I just returned from the Romance Writers of America national conference in Reno, Nevada and, thanks to Julia Quinn's twenty second lesson on how to work a slot machine, I spent two dollars and came home $253 richer.

I also learned that dresses with built-in boning can help make you look amazing...but it's down right almost impossible to breathe! Still, lack of oxygen (or maybe DUE to lack of oxygen) didn't stop me from celebrating my friend Sophia Nash's RITA win with a round of ballgown bowling
Above: It was a big night for the Norwegian Basketball Team (at 5'10", I am the short one): I finaled in two categories, Sophia Nash won for Best Regency, and Alesia Holliday, who also finaled in two categories.

Kathryn met with a book club in late October 2004 to talk about Rules of Engagement, publishing, and her upcoming novel Lady in Waiting. Here she is pictured at the home of one of the members with the book club, the well read alumnae of the Pi Beta Phi sorority.
